The Nutcracker Home Cinema Edition // Now through December 31st

As a special gift this season, American Midwest Ballet brings us this cherished holiday classic now reframed and presented with the at-home viewer in mind. Gather the family and experience the magic of the world-famous Nutcracker ballet anywhere you are via Facebook or YouTube. All your favorite characters, exquisite costumes, beloved music, and extraordinary dance are here to love all over again – for a limited time and at no cost too.

Omaha’s Light Displays // Now through the holidays

The Griswolds got nothing on these beauties. Pile in the car for a classic tour of some of the best residential light displays across Omaha – some set to music too. Family Fun in Omaha has a great interactive map to help you plan your route.

Christmas at Union Station // Now through Jan 10th

See Omaha’s official Christmas tree, explore the Durham Museum, and experience Omaha’s beautiful, historical train station. With admission and a scheduled visit, special attractions include the huge Christmas tree, a museum display of cultural holiday trees, a Jim Henson exhibition, and a chance to see Santa and his reindeer if you get there by December 23rd.

Say Goodbye to 2020 at Union Station // December 31st, 10a-4p

Celebrate the last day of 2020 at Union Station and the Durham Museum. With admission, you’ll receive a kit with supplies to help you safely ring in the new year plus a sundae from the old-fashioned soda fountain and the chance to participate in a Muppet scavenger hunt in conjunction with their special Jim Henson exhibition.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular // December 31st, 7p

Bring a thermos full of cocoa and enjoy this exciting sky-high show right from your own car. The display will be visible all around downtown Omaha, but for a close-up view, parking is available in the lots near the CHI Health Center.

Hitchcock Nature Center New Year’s Eve Midnight Hike // December 31st, 11:30p

Take a guided, midnight hike through the beautiful Loess Hills. Dress warm and listen for activity from the forest’s nocturnal residents. Space is limited, so be sure to register and save your spot today.

A Christmas Carol Streaming Online // Now through January 3rd

Get ready to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy A Christmas Carol from Omaha Community Playhouse – as a gift to the community. Re-imagined and re-crafted for the digital experience, this holiday classic is a tradition you won’t have to miss this year.

Lauritzen Gardens Merry & Bright Holiday Show // Now through January 3rd

Enjoy a safe, one-way tour through the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory, the Family Chill Zone, and their beautiful floral display hall. The outdoor gardens are available to explore too. A timed-entry ticket is required, so be sure to reserve your spot today.

Fontenelle Forest Winter Wonderland // Now through January 3rd

Fontenelle Forest has filled the great hall in their nature center with decorated trees, wreaths, and other beautiful holiday decorations for you to enjoy. While you’re there, explore their acclaimed Raptor Recovery exhibit and experience the peaceful stillness of a winter forest as you hike along a trail.
