The Houseplant Event
Plants are our passion. And we love sharing that passion with you. That’s why we’re excited to spend the entire month of January honoring our favorite houseplants – and we’ll wrap it all up with a celebration in the Greenhouse. It’s an afternoon for learning more about your favorite plants, finding new ones for your collection, mingling with fellow enthusiasts, and more. Join us as we celebrate with food by Stirnella Bar & Kitchen, ice cream by Coneflower Creamery, and juice by The Grove Juicery. Be sure to bring cash – we wouldn’t want you to miss out!
Houseplants 101
Join us at 12:30 as we kick-off our new Houseplants 101 seminar series. Plant Care team member Terri Loewens will cover all the basics of light and watering – the two most critical components for houseplant success. Learn to understand the type of light your plant is receiving and how you can give it the kind of light it needs. Learn to know when your plant is thirsty and how to encourage healthy root growth with all our best watering tips. Be sure to bring your questions too – Terri will be happy to answer any you have.
Houseplant Photo Contest
Share your best photos of your own houseplant collection in our photo-contest taking place on Instagram by tagging @mulhalls in your photo and using the hashtags #mymulhalls and #mulhallsplantcontest. The first place winner will receive a $100 gift card and be featured over on our blog. Second and third place winners will each receive a gift card too – for $50 or $25. Be sure to enter your photos by midnight on January 19th. Our in-house panel will then select the finalists to be featured at The Houseplant Event and included in the final voting.
Potting Station
If you find a new plant you’d like to purchase, use our potting tables and fresh soil to transplant it into a new pot – or a pot you’ve brought from home. It’s a great way to expand your indoor plant collection without needing to bring home an entire bag of soil.
Plant ID Quiz
Stop by our Plant ID booth and show us how many houseplants you can name. If your plant knowledge is impressive enough to pass our quiz, you’ll receive a new little plant to add to your home collection.
