Tiny houseplants are undeniably cute. Just show any plant parent a four-inch-tall bamboo palm and watch what happens – the cooing, the cuddling, the “Aww! Look at him!” Frankly, it’s a little embarrassing – especially if you’re the one doing the cooing. But it’s totally understandable. Baby plants are the cutest. And with so many varieties to love and so many ways to enjoy them, we get it – we can’t get enough of them either.

This season, our Greenhouse has welcomed thousands of baby houseplants, and finding one favorite is an engrossing way to spend an afternoon.
Our collection changes all the time and includes itty, bitty versions of many of your favorite regular-sized houseplants – like alocasia, philodendron, sansevieria, begonia, peperomia, fern, pilea, all kinds of succulents and cacti, and more. With dozens of different kinds – each with their own texture, color, growth form, leaf shape, and even light preferences – we have the perfect baby plant for any space you want to put one.
Ways to Admire Them
Because they’re so small, baby houseplants are versatile. Plant a group of coordinating babies in a terrarium – maybe a community of moisture-loving tropicals in a closed glass container or a mini-desert with cacti and pretty stones in an open one. Baby houseplants are also key components of any well-appointed fairy garden.
Baby houseplants look amazing alone in a tiny pot too – tucked nicely onto windowsills, bookshelves, and office cubicles where the need for beautiful greenery is there but not a lot of space to go with it. This approach also lets each little plant show off its own personality and maxes out the cute factor since they look just like “grownup” plants, just adorably smaller.
And not surprisingly, children have a natural fondness for tiny plants too. Caring for a baby houseplant or fairy garden is a wonderful way to introduce kids to the joys of plant parenthood while engaging them in important lessons in responsibility, science, and creativity. And they won’t even know they’re learning, just that it’s fun to watch something grow.
