We want to thank everyone who helped make our recent Holiday Gala such a success. We loved spending the evening with all of you – sharing in the spirit of the holidays and supporting some incredible work taking place in our community. Together we raised over $6,400 benefiting Keep Omaha Beautiful and their efforts to make our city an even healthier and more beautiful place to live and work every day – planting trees, revitalizing vacant lots, and engaging our community in environmental stewardship. And we couldn’t have done it without you.
During the evening, we hope you had the chance to stop and visit with the team from Keep Omaha Beautiful. If you’ve noticed a storm drain labeled to prevent the dumping of hazardous materials or large groups of people planting new trees or cleaning litter from a park, you’ve seen some of the valuable work that Keep Omaha Beautiful and their army of dedicated volunteers do every year for our community. Thanks to engaging projects with an eye toward helping folks understand the direct link they share with our natural environment, thousands of folks have donated their time and talent to this amazing effort. Maybe you found something that sparked your passion to join in too.
And what’s a special evening like this without music? Singer-songwriter Topher Booth and local soul project Mesonjixx took turns creating the perfect backdrop for enjoying wine and hors d’oeuvres while strolling with friends, grabbing a commemorative group photo, or simply taking in the joyous spirit that filled the Greenhouse and Christmas Shop. Maybe Myrtle & Cypress Coffeehouse had just the right specialty drink to warm up your evening. Or perhaps local calligrapher Cheryl Dyer added a personalized touch to your gifts at our gift-wrap station. You’ll have to tell us how excited your loved ones were to find their gifts marked with beautifully hand-lettered gift tags.
Our Holiday Gala is the most highly anticipated evening of our year, and we hope you had a great time. If you entered our raffle, watch for an email asking for your feedback about the event. If you take just a moment to complete our survey, we’ll enter your name in another drawing for a $100 gift card to our store. Each year’s Holiday Gala is better than the last, and we have the ideas that you share to thank for that.
