September days are just made for relaxing outside, aren’t they? There’s nothing cozier than a favorite sweatshirt, a comfortable chair, a warm drink, and an even warmer fire. While no one can pick your favorite sweatshirt but you, we can help with the comfortable chair and warm fire.
Décor buyer Sandi Ricke said this year saw exciting new combinations of materials and color available in outdoor furniture. Our customers enjoyed the varied combinations of natural textures found in our showroom, from woven wicker to smooth stone and metal. We brought in a wood table that drew a lot of interest when we paired it with a metal sling chair. Our wicker sectionals were also popular – and our outdoor pillows too. We always like adding pillows to classic sofas and chairs – it’s a simple way to bring in more comfort, color, and texture to the space. And pillows are easy to swap out, so you can update the look with each new patio season.
And with the changing seasons, Sandi has a few tips for keeping your outdoor furniture looking brand new for years to come. All of our outdoor furniture is built to withstand the elements, but our winters can be especially brutal with temperature extremes and rapid freeze/thaw cycles. Sandi recommends using furniture covers to extend the life of your furniture and keep the finishes in like-new condition. And cushions should always be taken inside for the winter, not because of the cold and the snow – our outdoor fabrics are all-weather resistant – but to protect them from the little critters looking for a warm winter home.
If you’re thinking that a new patio chair, umbrella, fire pit, or set of cushions sounds inviting, now is a great time to visit the store. Our Patio Tag Sale is going on now, and you’ll find great prices on select items throughout our Outdoor Living showroom. Just look for the yellow tags. If you need advice, our team can help you find the right style, finish, or fabric to create the look you want just in time for those relaxing fall days.
