Our Must-Have Tools for the Garden

With all the digging, planting, cutting, and trimming to do in the spring, a great set of tools makes working in the garden much easier and more productive. As professional landscapers and plant enthusiasts, we ask a lot of our equipment, so around here, many of our own go-to tools come from the best: Corona Tools. We love how their shovels, spades, and cutting tools are all thoughtfully crafted, dependable, and made to last. And we’ve come to rely on them to get our jobs done. We know you love a great garden tool too, so here we introduce you to some of our team’s must-haves from our favorite brand.

Round Point Shovel

When you’re digging holes to plant perennials and shrubs, a sturdy round point shovel, like the one from Corona Tools is the best choice for the job. Its 14-gauge, tempered steel blade is pre-sharpened and ready to slice easily through any backyard soil. And the tall, 48-inch handle reaches deep into the largest holes while reducing strain on your back too. This shovel comes with either a wooden or fiberglass handle – whichever you like best.

Garden Spade

This is the strong, versatile spade our own team relies on for a wide variety of landscape projects. The 30-inch handle, made of ash wood, ends in a comfortable D-shape for a sure grip, and the top of the extra-thick, 14-gauge tempered steel blade is turned flat to provide a solid step for your foot.

Garden Trowel

No gardener’s tool belt is complete without a trusty garden trowel. This trowel features a cast-aluminum blade with depth markings included and convenient bag-rippers at the top to make quick work of all those bags of potting soil. And the super-comfortable, ergonomically designed grip allows hours of productive work in the garden.

¾” Bypass Pruner

Another of our team’s favorites is our go-to pruner for all those quick cutting jobs – deadheading, trimming, pruning – that pop up regularly throughout the day. The forged, high-carbon steel blades stay sharp for a long time – and they’re easy to sharpen if they ever need it. The grips are soft, usable by both left- and right-handed gardeners, and feature a lock for safety when your pruner isn’t in use.

10” Hedge Shears

When the size of the branch or the quantity of cuts exceed what your bypass pruner can easily and safely handle, it’s time to pull out the bigger blades. These shears feature 10” forged alloy steel blades, perfect for quickly shaping a shrub – or cutting out those older stems when it’s time to rejuvenate a shrub from the inside.
