We like plants, people, and beautiful spaces. John Mulhall came to Omaha in 1953 to landscape, and now, three generations later, we’re as committed as we’ve ever been to making Omaha a more beautiful place to live. Today we’re a team of a few hundred people, but our focus remains the same: working together to engage our community and share our passion for the beauty of the natural world. And we have fun doing it.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As the Greenhouse Lead, Herbs + Vegetables, you’ll report to our Greenhouse Manager and help manage the daily tasks, projects, and processes that keep the entire Greenhouse looking its best. You’ll be responsible for assisting customers in finding the perfect plants, championing the importance of defined processes, and jumping in where needed to complete daily tasks and projects. During our peak season, you’ll be responsible for managing the flow of herb and vegetable deliveries from the receiving dock to the applicable backstock area as well as keeping the salesfloor fresh and full of product – all in line with our vision to be the most loved plant shop in the country.

YOUR IMPACT

• Welcome customers and assist them in finding the plant or solution they need, actively contributing to our Store experience
• Make yourself a go-to person and a champion of training, follow-up, and delegation of tasks – for the whole Greenhouse and your focus area
• Minimize plant death through First-In-First-Out replenishment and the herb + vegetable replenishment process to fill from backstock
• Support the Pro Customer by actively participating in our Pro Pick process
• Partner with the Greenhouse Manager to ensure the entire Greenhouse watering and down-stacking teams are staffed and supported

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• A belief in and passion for our purpose – beautifying our community
• 2+ years of retail experience, preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
• The ability to manage multiple competing priorities with a consistently positive response to pressure
• A supportive team player who anticipates problems and works collaboratively to solve them
