Getting Ready for Holiday Get-Togethers

Hosting a gathering of your closest friends and family is one of the most rewarding events in the Christmas season. It’s your chance to open your home and show warm hospitality to the people you love best. And, if you’re invited to such a gathering, the host or hostess deserves a token of your appreciation for the effort they put into making the get-together special. Whether you’re doing the hosting or you’re one of the hosted, we have a collection of tableware, decorations, and gifts that will fill everyone at the party with good cheer.

If you’re the host, we know you’ll want everything to be perfect, and we’re excited to help make that goal a reality with our collection of serving items, towels, decorations, and more. The first thing to do is welcome your guests to the door with a holiday doormat or door-hanging – they’re in the greenhouse and come in a variety of cheerful themes featuring Santas, snowmen, Christmas trees, and other holiday traditions. You can also pick up an armload of fresh evergreens to arrange in a doorstep container too.

Inside your home, the welcoming feeling can continue with a beautiful seasonal scent from one of our lines of high-quality scented candles. Nest, Aromatique, Thymes, and Rosy Rings all have amazing scents for the holidays. For the table, we have a wonderful plate with a vintage red truck, a snowflake background, and the words “Love – pass it on” on the front. It’s not meant to stay with you but should be given to a guest – preferably loaded with leftovers – with the hopes they pass it along to someone else. We had another style of this giving plate at Thanksgiving, and it’s a sweet tradition to start with your loved ones. There’s also a selection of seasonally decorated melamine plates perfect for dining, serving, or simply holding hors d’oeuvres. And take a look at our holiday tea towels too. They come in several vintage-inspired styles – the one featuring a reindeer with a cardinal friend perched on his antlers is a favorite of our team, thanks to our furry guests in the flat-top greenhouse. For added dinner entertainment, hand out festive Christmas poppers to your guests and watch what happens. Resembling an over-sized piece of wrapped candy, these brightly-decorated poppers create a loud ‘pop’ as two people pull each apart to find small prizes inside – maybe a party hat, a joke, toys, or other trinkets too. You can even make refilling water glasses entertaining with one of our whimsical stoneware Gurgle Pots. They’re shaped like fish and produce a delightful gurgling sound as they pour. And finally, if you need to add finishing touches to your décor and create a comfy place for your guests to rest, look for our collection of soft pillows and warm throws. Of course, we think the reindeer-themed pillows are special, but you’ll find other great seasonal looks too.

And if you’re the one invited to a wonderful party, bringing a gift for the host or hostess is a great way to show your appreciation for their hospitality. From special ornaments to vintage gift tags, plants, scented candles, and more, our store is a great place to find that perfect gift to take along. If your hosts are known for their cooking talent and stylish parties, they’ll appreciate one of our books. These titles are not only beautiful to look at but they’re full of recipes and decorating ideas to inspire the next get-together. There’s also a mailing set in a perfect rectangular tin, full of vintage-inspired cards, stickers, stamps, and a stamp pad so after the party, your hosts can finish up their holiday correspondence. Of course, a bottle of wine is always appropriate. You can dress up this classic gift with one of our holiday bottle stoppers featuring a fun Santa, Christmas tree, or colorful light bulb on top. You can add a large wooden gift tag too, with fun sayings like “may your wine glass be full and your gifts exchangeable,” or “don’t get your tinsel in a tangle.” Over in the greenhouse, pick up a pot of fresh oregano, thyme, or rosemary – maybe your host will add their delicious herbal goodness to what’s cooking for dinner. And, of course, a colorful poinsettia is always a welcome addition to anyone’s home this time of year.

It’s the season for getting together with the people who mean the most to us. Whether the party’s at your house or you’re the one on the guest list, we can help you find the special décor and gifts to make the night special.
