Pollinator Gardens

Join us on Facebook Live to learn how you can welcome and better support a diversity of pollinators right in your own garden.

With Scott Evans from Nebraska Extension and Bob Ewing from our Greenhouse team, you’ll hear new planting ideas as they discuss the types of plants pollinators use as food and shelter throughout the year. They’ll also explain the importance of providing water sources, making thoughtful pesticide choices, and choosing conservation practices that benefit pollinators, such as leaving some garden cleanup until spring. With their expert tips, you may even be able to certify your space as an official Nebraska Pollinator Habitat through Nebraska Extension!

This event is part of the Growing Gardeners Workshop Series, a collaboration between City Sprouts and The Big Garden. The goal of this program is to offer four seasons of hands-on workshops that feature skills and techniques for every gardener and urban farmer. All workshops in the Growing Garderns Workshop Series are free to low-cost and welcome to all-ages. And no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
