Bird-Friendly Landscapes

Birds are just like us – they love good food, fresh water to drink, and a safe place to live. For a larger number and wider variety of birds fluttering around your backyard, make it a bird-friendly landscape complete with the resources they need. In this seminar, bird enthusiast and Greenhouse Team Leader Bob Ewing, along with Master Naturalist Jonene Lee, will show you how. Bob are Jonene are passionate about sharing their own experiences – each turning their backyards into spaces that attract all kinds of busy, colorful activity – and helping others do the same.

In this seminar, they’ll share their knowledge of both plants and birds to help you build an inviting outdoor space for a variety of feathered guests – including seldom-seen native and migrating species. Learn about the simple elements you can incorporate right now to benefit both the birds and your own backyard birding experience. Bob and Jonene will introduce you to some of the bird species you can expect to see at different times of the year and the resources they look for. And they’ll discuss ways we can support our feathered friends during the cold winter and as we head into the busy months of spring as birds begin to nest and raise their young.

Whether you’ve just begun drawing birds to your landscape or you’re interested in attracting even more, we hope you’ll join us for this informative look at how you can support an amazing community of birds right in your own backyard.
